Order minimums apply. Because our publishing house is very small, we do not have the administrative capacity to sell single books to bookshops. Customers in search of a single book should purchase directly from our website.

Why we sell our books directly:

Little Steidl produces exquisite artists’ editions that are not well suited to commercial trade distribution. The documentation on this website provides a view into the process of book development and production that is unique to Little Steidl. This includes detailed information about the advanced, experimental, and bespoke printing processes that are employed in our books.

The master craftsmanship and exceptional materials that go into each book are costly. At the same time, Little Steidl is committed to offering these books at a fair price. This means that we set the price to reflect the actual production costs, without the considerable additional costs of commercial distribution.

We collaborate with a limited number of specialized booksellers around the world. These are long-term relationships based on our mutual commitment to education and audience outreach. A portion of each edition is allocated to our partner booksellers, while a portion is reserved for direct sales to readers through our website.

The Little Steidl way deviates significantly from the Steidl distribution system that you may be used to. The Steidl infrastructure was built up in a very different moment in the history of book publishing. Little Steidl is a young publishing house operating in a newly reshaped field. In this context, we find a direct approach is advantageous for both publisher and book collector.
